Paulette Martinez Bethel, PhD, CMC began her cross cultural love affair with understanding the impacts transition and multiculturalism at an early age during the era of integration and while growing up in the melting pot city of New Orleans (CCK), with its Creole culture, colorful history, multicultural and multiracial background, and a potpourri of cultural influences that made New Orleans the unique culture that it is today, including France, Africa, Spain, the Native American culture, Acadia, Ste. Domingue (Haiti), Italy, the Canary Islands (Islanos), Germany, Mexico, Ireland and Cuba. She continued this passion through her pursuits as a career officer in the US Air Force. As a “global soul,” Paulette, along with her husband Ralph, who also served as a career enlisted man and officer in the USAF, raised their four Third Culture Kids (ATCKs)/USAF Military Brats. In addition to numerous domestic assignments, she and her family lived in multiple countries on several continents. Plus Dr. Bethel lived for a time as an expatriate in China.
Having personally dealt with the joys and challenges of living a highly mobile lifestyle, Dr. Bethel is committed to helping her clients and customers understand the complexities of international and domestic transition. She has provided expert guidance to thousands of individuals, families and organizations around the world on international transition, Third Culture Kids (TCKs)/Cross Culture Kids (CCKs), multicultural and multiracial identity, hidden diversity and blended families. She relies on her personal experiences, professional training, unique processes and easy-to-understand solutions to help her clients adjust to the uncertainty of living in new cultures and environments with confidence and vibrancy to always land on their feet.
Paulette is a certified master coach, international speaker, individual & family adjustment expert, masters level licensed counselor/therapist and a career U.S. Air Force Supply & Logistics Officer. In addition to her PhD in International Education & Entrepreneurship, she holds a Masters of Public Administration from the University of the Philippines. She is the Owner/President of Land On Your Feet, LLC and the cofounder of the TCK Academy
